Calling all discouraged econ teachers. Are you tired of searching the Web for useful econ sites?? Have you come upon one too many sites getting little or no benefits?? Well, I have done some of the work for you. Although I do not claim to have all the answers this Web log will get you more than started!!

NCEE A GREAT START--

Probably the best Web site is the National Council on Economic Education. The NCEE deals with all aspects of economic literacy. This site deals with consumers, savers, investors, citizens, and members of the workforce both national and worldwide. The Council has numerous links some of which will be listed below. Start with the National Council Web site.

ECONOMICS INTERNATIONAL--

The publication Connecting the Pieces: Building a Better Economics Lesson, will show you how to write, integrate, use thinking skills, models, assessments, produce lessons, and create tests.

Is the number one source for classsoom lessons and for internet lessons. There is a CyberTeach, Current Events, DataLinks, and WebLinks link also. There is even a newsletter- EconEdLink.

This non-profit organization since 1978 will provide you with curriculum help, student programs including the trade mark game The Stock Market Game, numeruos programs and services.

THE STOCK MARKET GAME--

Students start with $100,000 and use the internet and other sources to build a financial portfolio. They can buy stocks from the 3 major U.S. stock exchanges, buy on margin, pay commission, and earn interest on cash balances. There may be a fee, but the advanced thinking skills, compeition, research, and cooperation skills the students must perform are worth the money.
